My Favourite female Voices I love to listen to…
I love listening to loads of different voices , listening to the tones, sounds and uniqueness of our voice.
This blog is a snippet from my podcast and video where you can listen and watch the full versions here.
I picked out five women this week that I wanted to share with you the female voices that are ones I really love.
There are some amazing women’s voices that I love to listen to just for the differences in how they sound and articulate. I love, love, love the amazing Joanna Lumley’s voice. It is so smooth, silky and dreamy kind of voice. It reminds me of the old Galaxy chocolate advert where it said “why have cotton when you can have silk” she has a voice that when you hear it once and it makes you want to listen more and more even though she might be talking about absolutely nonsense.
The gorgeous voice of Jenny Francis used to come on a radio show on Choice FM 96.9 back in the day. Jenny “the lady of soul” Francis her voice is velvety, engaging, calming, soothing and her voice made you really want to fall in love with the music more and more.
The proper English Rose, clear cut, pretty articulate accent. I love her voice as it is a fresh speaking voice and you understand whether she speaks slowly or fast.
Phylicia Rashad or Claire Huxtable from The Cosby Show everybody’s favourite mum and the most beautiful amazing black lawyer at the time in the 1980s on this show when it was popping. I love her voice because it’s really unique and distinctive because she smiles when she talks. But she’s firm, clear, loving motherly and bossbabe all the way through with her voice and so distinctive.
Dame Judi Dench
Judi Dench, now this voice is very English, schoolmarmish, direct, bossy, authoritative, secure, a no-nonsense booming voice. What makes me laugh is Judi Dench is actually quite a petite woman and imagine this big booming voice that comes from her when she’s giving instructions when she’s playing M in James Bond. It kind of goes against like how she looks physically and I love this type of clear direct voice, no nonsense and no mucking about type of voice.
